Did your momma see you when you walked out the house like that? haha It seriously was freezing cold Friday night at our little brothers football game and I couldn't help but stare at these 2 little girls, maybe around 9 or 10 yrs old, standing in front of us, wearing TANK TOPS! Are you kidding me? I could literally see my breath every time I exhaled. I had a sweater and a jacket on and I was still cold...
It was utterly age-INAPPROPRIATE. What are parents thinking letting their daughters go out like this? I would understand if it's summer, but it clearly isn't.
Phew! Ok, rant over. I just don't understand it and I see this type of thing regularly and It bugs me.

Day 7 - A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
The person who has made the biggest impact on my life is my mother, Uanita Tafili Alo. Growing up I never really had that mother daughter connection with her. I felt like I was always forced to do everything and that my mom was living her dreams through me by signing me up for multiple activities. The other day I was reading through some of my journals that I had written during my Junior high school days and I hated myself for speaking so negative about my mom. I look at myself today and she truly is a mirror for me...I see so much of myself in her. Other than the obvious answer of giving me life, she has given me so much more than that. Because of her examples, I know how to be a good mother to my two boys. She was always there to support me in everything I do and even though at times we'll have our disagreements, I will always love her unconditionally.
I received a letter from her today, along with some stuff that she bought for the boys...It made my cry a little. I wanted to share a little of what she wrote:
I laughed when I read the end of her letter. She definitely knows me too well. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful mother in my life and a great Grandma to my kids. I love you MOM!

"Tilly, I love you and miss you so much. Make sure you teach Drey & Zee Discipline and take them to nursery at church. Make sure they both have books around and take time to walk them to the park. I love you and Lance. Stay true and active to your calling. Be a good YW leader and use your talent for the YW.....Tilly, respect your husband. Watch your mouth and think before you speak. I love you...."

30 day challenge. Day 6
Sad that I can't even think of a hobby that I have other than playing sports. However, I would love to start doing Vinyl lettering in the near future. They are so cute and would be great for home decorations or even gifts.

30 day challenge. Day 5
A picture of somewhere you've been to:
I've been to Samoa 3 times already. Wish I could go this year December for our family reunion. Super bummed out about it.
Matareva Beach
Lalomanu Beach (The Tsunami hit this side hard last year)
When I was younger I used to travel every year for AAU basketball and club volleyball tournaments. Some places I've been to are...
Orlando, Florida for AAU Nationals in 2001
Amarillo, Texas
Dayton, Ohio
Connecticut (I don't remember what city)
Las Vegas, Nevada (We went every year during easter break for the "AND1" tournaments. I think they still have it every year?)
I wish had pictures from all my trips. Back then I didn't believe in digital cameras, only disposable ones lol
Halloween 2010
I hope everyone had a fun & safe Halloween this year! This was our first Halloween here in Tacoma, WA and the kids had a lot of fun. I love how Drey is finally at an age where he can pick his own costume rather than myself choosing one for him. I'm actually surprised that he didn't choose the Iron Man costume...I guess Batman is his new thing. He was definitely too into his costume trying to be the REAL batman. lol We bought him batman gloves to match and luckily Alex had a batman mask from a friend, so we used that instead of the mask that came with the costume. It was too big.
Zeland was Buzz Lightyear from the movie Toy Story and was by far the cutest buzz I've ever seen hehe (well, I guess I'm entitled to say that since he is however my own son lol) Anwyay, here are some pictures of our halloween weekend.

30 day challenge. Day 4
List of 15 songs that represent my life's soundtrack.
Thinking cap is on! This will be hard. I tried to pick songs that when I hear them, they take me back to a certain time or represent how I was feeling.
#1 Making Memories of us by Keith Urban - Lance had shown me this song when we first started dating and I immediately fell in love with it! This was OUR song:)
#2 Without You by the Dixie Chicks - man oh man! The memory of this songs just makes me laugh. When my sisters and I were younger, my mom had put us in guitar lessons and this was one of the songs that we learned. Every year for the Samoan Flag Week, our mom entered us into the talent show, she MADE us play the guitar and sing this song. We absolutely hated it! haha I was the main singer while my sisters backed me up...it was kind of embarrassing lol
I think it was in 2003 for the flag week, my sisters were in high school I believe and my mom had signed us up again to play and sing. So when the talent show began, My sisters and I decided that we were gonna hide! haha We all split up! People kept coming to us saying that our mom was looking for us but we still hid till the talent show was over! haha We sure got lectured big time when we got home! haha
#3 Dance with my father by Luther Vandross - Reminds me of my Dad. It's one of his favorite songs.
#4 As long as you love me by The Backstreet boys - They were my all time fav at a young age. I thought Brian was the hottest guy ever! haha
#5 You're the Inspiration by Peter Cetera - This song reminds me of the beginning of my relationship with Lance. We were in the car on our way to my house and this song came on my favorite radio station 100.3 (yes I remember! hehe) We were singing as loud and annoying as we could haha crazy in Love:)
#6 Brown Eyes by Destiny's Child - Brings back memories of my first time in Western Samoa:)
#7 Basketball by Lil Bow Wow - This song was part of our warm up music before basketball games when I attended Cottonwood High School as a freshman. It pumped me up! Oh how I miss playing:(
#8 So Sick Cover by Passion - haha I hope this wont embarrass my husband lol When we first started dating, he sent me this recording to my phone singing So Sick By Ne yo. I thought it was so sweet of him to do so and thought he was really really good. A couple weeks later I was at my friends house and she had her radio playing while we were getting ready to go to a school dance. As I was listening, so sick was playing and in my head I'm thinking "Ok...this sounds just like Lance!" haha I asked my friend who this was and she reply's "oh it's Passion" (Mind you that no one really knew about Passion yet) I had my phone so I played the recording he sent me while her radio was playing and yup! I was pissed! haha Long story short, I called him, he apologized and I never believed a single word that came out of his mouth for a long time! haha
#9 Folgers Coffee Comercial by Rockapella (Youtube it!) - singing: "Ohh the best part of waking up, is folgers in your cup" I seriously have a craving for coffee now! lol Well, I've actually never had coffee before but listening to this song makes me want some. I remember seeing this commercial on TV when I was young. Another one of my favorties:)
#10 Amazing by Stevie Wonder & Beyonce - November 17, 2007 Our wedding song! Mele and Taima Tafua sang this for us on our special day.
#11 Why I love you by B2K - My whole room used to be filled with B2K posters..my side walls, and even the top! haha I was obsessed with this group! haha
#12 The boy is mine by Monica & Brandy - My cousin Nini and I used to pretend to be Monica and Brandy...then sing this whole song. Acting and everything haha We were such dorks!
#13 Close enough to touch - I've always been told that when I sing, I should sing from my heart, feel the music...I think this is the only song that I've ever felt like I put everything into it. I sung this for my sisters mission homecoming in 2008 and it was the first time I cried like a baby while singing. At the time, I was going through a lot in my life: school, having a baby at such a young age etc; So when I sang the chorus: "If I get close enough to touch, close enough to heal, somehow I know I'll be whole, If I'm close enough..." I broke down into tears. I never thought I was good enough so this song was a tough one! Our redeemer lives and not once! have I ever doubted that!
#14 His Hands by Kenneth Cope - Did I ever tell you that this is my ALL time favorite church song?? This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes every time I hear those words "They took his hands, his mighty hands, those gentle hands, and then they pierced them..and he let them, because of love..." What a reminder, that he suffered and died because he loved us. His hands bled in the Garden of Gethsemane, and on the cross at Calvary, because he loved us, even the worst of us. I hope as a latter-day saint, I am making my hands like those hands from Galilee
#15 Families can be together forever - "I have a family here on earth. They are so good to me. I want to share my life with them through all eternity. Families can be together forever. Through Heavenly Father's plan. I always want to be with my own family...and the Lord has shown me how I can..."
