30 day challenge. Day 4

List of 15 songs that represent my life's soundtrack.
Thinking cap is on! This will be hard. I tried to pick songs that when I hear them, they take me back to a certain time or represent how I was feeling.

#1 Making Memories of us by Keith Urban - Lance had shown me this song when we first started dating and I immediately fell in love with it! This was OUR song:)

#2 Without You by the Dixie Chicks - man oh man! The memory of this songs just makes me laugh. When my sisters and I were younger, my mom had put us in guitar lessons and this was one of the songs that we learned. Every year for the Samoan Flag Week, our mom entered us into the talent show, she MADE us play the guitar and sing this song. We absolutely hated it! haha I was the main singer while my sisters backed me up...it was kind of embarrassing lol
I think it was in 2003 for the flag week, my sisters were in high school I believe and my mom had signed us up again to play and sing. So when the talent show began, My sisters and I decided that we were gonna hide! haha We all split up! People kept coming to us saying that our mom was looking for us but we still hid till the talent show was over! haha We sure got lectured big time when we got home! haha

#3 Dance with my father by Luther Vandross - Reminds me of my Dad. It's one of his favorite songs.

#4 As long as you love me by The Backstreet boys - They were my all time fav at a young age. I thought Brian was the hottest guy ever! haha

#5 You're the Inspiration by Peter Cetera - This song reminds me of the beginning of my relationship with Lance. We were in the car on our way to my house and this song came on my favorite radio station 100.3 (yes I remember! hehe) We were singing as loud and annoying as we could haha crazy in Love:)

#6 Brown Eyes by Destiny's Child - Brings back memories of my first time in Western Samoa:)

#7 Basketball by Lil Bow Wow - This song was part of our warm up music before basketball games when I attended Cottonwood High School as a freshman. It pumped me up! Oh how I miss playing:(

#8 So Sick Cover by Passion - haha I hope this wont embarrass my husband lol When we first started dating, he sent me this recording to my phone singing So Sick By Ne yo. I thought it was so sweet of him to do so and thought he was really really good. A couple weeks later I was at my friends house and she had her radio playing while we were getting ready to go to a school dance. As I was listening, so sick was playing and in my head I'm thinking "Ok...this sounds just like Lance!" haha I asked my friend who this was and she reply's "oh it's Passion" (Mind you that no one really knew about Passion yet) I had my phone so I played the recording he sent me while her radio was playing and yup! I was pissed! haha Long story short, I called him, he apologized and I never believed a single word that came out of his mouth for a long time! haha

#9 Folgers Coffee Comercial by Rockapella (Youtube it!) - singing: "Ohh the best part of waking up, is folgers in your cup" I seriously have a craving for coffee now! lol Well, I've actually never had coffee before but listening to this song makes me want some. I remember seeing this commercial on TV when I was young. Another one of my favorties:)

#10 Amazing by Stevie Wonder & Beyonce - November 17, 2007 Our wedding song! Mele and Taima Tafua sang this for us on our special day.

#11 Why I love you by B2K - My whole room used to be filled with B2K posters..my side walls, and even the top! haha I was obsessed with this group! haha

#12 The boy is mine by Monica & Brandy - My cousin Nini and I used to pretend to be Monica and Brandy...then sing this whole song. Acting and everything haha We were such dorks!

#13  Close enough to touch - I've always been told that when I sing, I should sing from my heart, feel the music...I think this is the only song that I've ever felt like I put everything into it. I sung this for my sisters mission homecoming in 2008 and it was the first time I cried like a baby while singing. At the time, I was going through a lot in my life: school, having a baby at such a young age etc; So when I sang the chorus: "If I get close enough to touch, close enough to heal, somehow I know I'll be whole, If I'm close enough..." I broke down into tears. I never thought I was good enough so this song was a tough one! Our redeemer lives and not once! have I ever doubted that!

#14 His Hands by Kenneth Cope - Did I ever tell you that this is my ALL time favorite church song?? This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes every time I hear those words "They took his hands, his mighty hands, those gentle hands, and then they pierced them..and he let them, because of love..." What a reminder, that he suffered and died because he loved us. His hands bled in the Garden of Gethsemane, and on the cross at Calvary, because he loved us, even the worst of us. I hope as a latter-day saint, I am making my hands like those hands from Galilee

#15 Families can be together forever - "I have a family here on earth. They are so good to me. I want to share my life with them through all eternity. Families can be together forever. Through Heavenly Father's plan. I always want to be with my own family...and the Lord has shown me how I can..."

30 day challenge. Day 3

A habit that I wish I didn't have:

I have developed the bad habit of staying up late. Really late. I rarely get to bed before 1 a.m. and sometimes will fall asleep at 4 a.m.  I don't know why I do this to myself but it's been a constant thing for so long, so when I do try and fall asleep around 9 or 10...I can't. It's definitely a bad habit I need to break and it doesn't make it any easier when my husband works graveyard and gets off at 3:30 am. I always want to stay up till he gets home and make sure he's safe. Because of this habit, I get tired more, don't want to get up in the morning and sometimes don't even get things done...which leads me to procrastination - Delaying things off till the next day due to pure LAZINESS!

I wish I didn't have this habit:(

Allenmore Ward Primary Program

Yesterday marked Dreysen's first time being in a primary program and he did such a good job.
His part was "Ou te usita'i ia Iesu Keriso" and he went up in front of the whole ward, by himself and said it so perfect. He was so anxious to get up to the podium that he went up there when it wasn't even his turn lol (from what one of the leaders were telling me.) When drey got his part last month, he struggled trying to pronounce the words. He would say "Ou te utitati ia Iesu teriso" haha He sometimes can't pronounce certain letters like "K" or "S" so I was very proud of him for saying his part so good. I had no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't say it in front of the ward because he's definitely not SHY to do anything. He's just like his dad. Very outgoing and gets along with others well.
As I was sitting in the front row while the primary was getting set up before church started, I looked at Dreysen sitting there patiently waiting and he looked at me, waving his hands saying hi, giving me a thumbs up. I got a little teary eyed, trying to hold my tears in. I was so happy, then again...so sad that he is growing up so fast. It's little moments like this that make me so proud to be a mother of this handsome boy! Anyway, the program was a success. The kids did great on their parts and sang so beautifully. A lot of the little kids had me laughing especially the little girl who sang her part haha It was too funny.

Afterwards, we treated the kids to a buffet and left right after sacrament since the old lady was at home by herself and Lances little cousin and her baby were at the emergency room so we didn't want them waiting any longer for us. Overall, we had a great day! Here are some pictures...

Choices

So, I've been feeling kind of down lately.

Part of it is because I'm bored! I want to start working again. Although I love being a stay at home mom to my kids, It's been 2 years since I've worked and I miss it.

A big part of it is missing my family in Utah. I miss my sisters, being able to see them every week with their kids, my handsome brothers, and my parents. I've never been away from my family for this long.

My boys are the only one's keeping me sane in this State.

I think, however, the biggest part is trying to figure out the future.

There are so many questions flooding my brain right now.

When will I finish school? Should I be working right now for the extra income? Should Lance and I move out of his parents?  Should we be buying a new car right now? Should we be writing our will right now? What if we die?? Should we go back to Utah? Should we do this...should we do that....

It makes it really hard to make a solid decision. We learn that true faith is walking to the edge of the light and a few steps into the dark, but that kind of seems like it comes from a scary movie haha What if there is a bottomless pit just past the shadows? I'd really rather not fall in. I wish that I could have a flashlight to take with me while I'm exercising my faith. Just a little one; I'd even settle for one of those keychain lights!;)

But thats not the way it works. In order for it to be true faith, we must walk into the unknown, with the soft guidance of the Lord gently pushing us into the right direction. I know he wouldn't let me fall into a bottomless pit.

I know a lot of people have been where I am right now: sitting on the couch late at night, listening to slow jams, stomach growling and their brain furiously trying to figure out
What on earth is the next chapter in their life. And I know some people have had even less of a clue that I do, so I'll most likely be ok.

I've just got it in my head that in life there is only one right choice at a time. The truth is, there are several. I just want to pick the RIGHT choice you know? I'm also hoping it will just come to me. Not in an impression, a feeling, or in a dream, but preferably in a handwritten letter (from Heavenly Father if possible haha) telling me exactly what to do and in what order!

Thank goodness I know what is most important in life.
Thank goodness I know that truths that I do.
Thank goodness I have Lance and my 2 beautiful boys.
And thank goodness for my family!

I'd be willing to take any advice anyone has to offer on methods of how to make big choices. I'm just going to put that out there.

Anyway, it's 3:10 a.m. and I think it's time to go to bed;) hehe Night!
