Day 20: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be.

1. Win the Lottery!! haha

2. To be Invisible! How awesome would that be? lol

3. Time Travel:):)

It's been a while...

I have had absolutely no motivation to blog lately. As if life isn't crazy enough, I'm trying my hardest to keep everyone, as in my family...updated with our lives.

We had our first Thanksgiving here in Washington and we ATE, ATE and ate. We had some good stuff and I wish I could say that I helped cooked, but I didn't. Well, I did contribute to our Thanksgiving dinner by buying the ice cream! haha ya know, the easy stuff. All in all, we had a great time. Lance signed up for over time so he left to work at around 3:30 pm and wasn't able to eat dinner with us. He's such a hard working guy and I love him for that and much more.
I missed having my family around. Especially my dads cooking! I had to hold back my tears while talking to them and my poor husband had to deal with me after I got off the phone because I broke down into tears. I'm such a baby! lol I'm the 2nd youngest of 6 so it's been a little hard being away from my parents and siblings.

Anyway, I got hired to work part time for Macy's just for the holidays and out of all days, they start me on BLACK FRIDAY! dun dun Dunnn! haha I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had no trainings whatsoever but I kept my head high. It didn't go so bad after all. They put me in the women's shoe department but luckily I was doing the cashier part and not having to find shoes for customers. That would of been scary! haha

Overall it was a GREAT week! To top it off...my UTES won against BYU:) What an intense game! I wish I would of had a camera to see our reaction when when they blocked that last kick cuz my husband and I were goin crazy! haha It's funny because my little brother Rex, 2 sisters and their husbands are ALL BYU fans so I enjoyed rubbing the WIN in their face!! bahaha
However, I think I need to write Coach Whittingham and tell him he needs to fire his QB! LOL Kudo's to BYU's QB for doing a great job...I didn't know he was from Washington too!
I hope next year we'll all be able to actually go to the game. That would be fun!

Day 19- Nicknames you have & how or why you have them

**TiLLy**
For as long as I can remember, I've always gone by Tilly and I have no idea how I got that nickname lol I asked my mom one time why they started calling me that and she doesn't have a clue either haha
I dont know how you get "Tilly" out of "Matilda" lol A lot of people don't even know that my real name is Matilda and when they do find out...I always get this statement, "Have you seen the movie Matilda?" lol yes! I have! haha or I get odd reactions since Matilda doesn't really fit me? Anyway, I don't really go by anything us other than "HUN" baby, sugar plum JK! haha from my husband.
Night Bloggers:)

  18. Learn another language

Day 17 - Someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

Interesting question. At first I thought about the usual: movie star, rich person etc. but then I think I'd be bummed that I'd have to go back to my regular life. Unless, however I switch lives with Oprah, immediately take all her assets and send it to my bank account! haha Ok I'm dreaming lol but I think I'm going to take a slightly different approach to it. I would choose to spend a day as my husband, Lance. It would be quite interesting to see things from a males perspective. While we've been together for about four years, I know that I am anything but perfect. So maybe if I see, how Lance see's me...I could change a lot of how I do, or say things. I would love to know how he sees me, our life and our sons and everything from his point of view. That might be quite an eye opener!

Catching up

So things have been a bit crazy for me this past week, but I don't really want to go into details. I'm not sure if I mentioned in other posts but I got called to be the Young Women Secretary in our ward and I was stoked! I know its just the "secretary" but I was excited to be around the girls. It makes me miss my younger days when I was in the youth at Midvalley ward in Utah since I didn't really get to finish, or lets say "graduate" lol from the YW's. When I got pregnant, I couldn't be in the youth anymore, and it was understandable. I went straight to Relief Society and could no longer participate in any kind of youth activities. I was surprised when I came to the ward here in Washington to see some of the youth girls that have kids...and still are in the youth. It's just different, because in UT, once you get pregnant if your in the youth, you have to start going to Relief Society lol

Anyway, So the YW are doing dances for their Thanksgiving talent show and dinner and each class had to do a dance. The laurels are doing Tahitian, Miamaids: Hawaiian and Beehives: Tongan. With already 2 weeks into practice, the miamaids still didn't have a dance so Nessa asked me if I could come up with something. I'm not much of a dancer, so I looked up some dances on youtube, learned it in one night, and taught it to the girls the next day. It was so last minute but they are doing awesome and we have one more practice till the show. I wish I could take credit for coming up with the dance but oh well! haha I'm glad I could help out and I can't wait to share my ideas with other activities.

The kids are growing up too fast. Today, for the first time...Dreysen stayed in Primary and went to class without having me there with him. He kept singing the "hello" song when he came home and I couldn't help but laugh at him. He is a fast learner when it comes to music and thats what I love about him. He definitely gets it from my side of the family! haha ;)
Zeland on the other hand is a handful. While Dreysend is my little "singer"...Zee is my "dancer" which he gets it from his daddy..and uncle Stephen lol When Drey sings, Zee will be there dancing! Its so cute. He's so independent and always wants to do things on his own. I'll try and feed him and he'll throw a fit because he wants to feed him self and I always catch him in his own little corner playing with toys by himself. He's such a handful and he is STILL not walking at 15 months lol He'll be ready soon, I just know it. He is however, standing up on his own...

Day 16: Something you could live without.

I love my cable television but I'm sure I could live without it. The TV is my best friend! lol It makes my children happy whenever they get to watch their favorite shows and I blame myself for Dreysens lack of vocabulary. He's been watching tv since he was about 8 months and now, he sort of has trouble with his speech. Trust me, this boy talks A LOT...but he can't talk clearly! lol I took him for a check up last month and his Pediatrician said that if he's still talking the same when he turns 4, she recommends taking him to a speech therapist. So I've been more strict with him about watching tv or even playing video games with his uncles and bought some flash cards that will hopefully help him progress. Last year my mom got that "Your Baby Can Read" stuff and it honestly worked for a day or 2 for Drey. It was all stacked in the box and I came home one day to all the cards on the floor, most of it was ripped up and the dvd's were everywhere. When I finally put everything together, I was missing a lot of stuff, plus most of it...Drey ruined. I was so mad because I wanted to use it for Zeland but anyway did you know...
  • -Children who consistently spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV are more likely to be OVERWEIGHT?
-TV characters often depict risky behaviors, such as smoking and drinking, and also reinforce gender - role and racial  stereotypes

- Kids who view violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior but also fear that the world is scary and that something bad will happen to them.

Last night we had dance practice for the Young Women in the ward and this was our refreshments that Tina Alo brought for all of us. I was stuffed afterwards and could hardly eat dinner when I got home. Thanks Tina!

10 confessions:
  1. I'm stubburn! I always want to be right and have everything my way. When I get mad at someone, I tend to hold a grudge against them for a long time...well, maybe just a couple days.
  2. I haven't been to the temple yet since we got sealed in July. Bad bad bad! We moved here to WA in August and my excuse to not visit the temple here is "it's too far." No excuses Tilly!
  3. I've never cheated on a boyfriend..or "husband" before haha
  4. I pick my nose when no ones watching! haha ( you know you do it too! LOL)
  5. I hate when My kids clothes get dirty when we go out to birthday parties or any other type of event. I got pissed at my mom one time for letting Dreysen play with her lipstick and it got ALL over his new jersey I bought him. haha
  6. I love playing video games online: Halo3, modern warefare and my new fav Halo Reach. You'll always catch me online playing with my little brother Stephen till 3 am! lol My husband is jealous that I'm better than him! bahaha
  7. I hate my NOSE! lol
  8. I exfoliate my lips with a toothbrush and vaseline.
  9. I hate sleeping in my room when it's messy. If I'm lazy to get up and clean it, I'll sleep in the living room
  10. I wish I was 50 lbs lighter! haha

Day 13: Write a letter telling someone something you could never tell them

Dear Anonymous,

There were many things that I wanted to tell you, but I never had the courage. I really wish you could spend a day in his shoes and see how bad he is hurting inside. Not being able to work because of his illness, doing blood work at the clinic 3 days a week for 4 hours. He needs you and I feel bad that I can't do anything to help especially now that we live miles away. He cries at night, but yet there is no one there to hold him and tell him it's ok. Please come back so the rest of us don't suffer from seeing him like this. There's only so much that one can do and you know he can't do much. He has his imperfections but don't we all? I know that without a doubt that if he wasn't sick, he'd be working his A** off just to make everything the way you want it, to make YOU happy.  I love you and all I'm asking is to drop everything your doing out there, and come home. He...They! need you.

Love always,

Tilly

Day 12: A picture of your dream room. Share a secret.

"The heart of the HOME is the KITCHEN"

I get jealous every time I watch Extreme home makeover or HGTV and think to myself "hmm? What if that was me?" WHAT IF??
The kitchen is a special place not only for cooking (well, thats if I knew how to cook haha) but also for family time...family gatherings. It's where you'll have dinner every night with your kids, bonding with them. This would be something like my DREAM ROOM.

Share a secret?

"I'm baby hungry!" haha

Day 11- A picture of something I dislike

To Mr. Safety, Mr & Mrs. Slow driver and Mr. Anger Management...When the light turns green GO!! Please pay attention to what you are doing...not sit there for 5 seconds that by the time its my turn to go, the light goes RED! lol And the 4 way stops where two losers wave each other with
"NO, you go."
"No, no, no...you go!"
"Thanks, but no, I insist, you go!"
Then they both start to go at the same time and slam on the breaks and chuckle at each other and the process starts all over again! lol
You people make me crazy!

And Mr. Safety!! Please! The speed limit is 45 mph, but mister safety is going at 35 mph slowing the rest of us down! I promise the police won't bother you at all for doing 45 or 50! Most times you can get away with 55!

Mr. Anger Management!! I suggest you take a chill pill with that short temper of yours while driving on the road

(I think my DAD fits Mr. Anger Management well! lol I hate driving with my dad!! haha He has the biggest road rage ever! Everything has to go his way on the road and if someone is going to slow, he'll cut them off and throw a finger at them haha My dad is too funny and there are way too many stories to tell of his road rage...Did I mention that he threw a glass bottle at a car, they threw something back, so my dad pulled over..and try and fight them? haha He really did have to take anger management classes to take care of tickets that involved some type of road rage! haha Love ya DAD:)

Day 10 - a story about a past relationship

I miss having that close relationship with my 1st cousins Janine and Trustine.  Growing up, we were inseparable. We did everything together! Most everyone knew us as a "three" thats how close we were. I remember going to volleyball practice everyday together, going to our uncle Siona's to clean his house for money...lol those were the good times.
My name was actually supposed to be "Christine"...Our mothers planned that their daughters names would be similar so it would be Janine, Christine, Trustine then the younger girls, Kayleen, Rayleen, Celestine and so on, you get the point. But unfortunately my mom wanted to be different! haha

I wonder If I did have that name..weird? lol

Anyway,  As we all got older...Nini and I had kids, Tini went off to school in Wyoming and since then, everything has been different...but thats ok. I love these girls and would do anything for them in a heart beat

Day 9 - Someone your proud of

Rex Lee Alo Jr.
My not so "little" brother is who I am proud of. We always fought when we were younger and both would find anything to get the other in trouble. My mom always took his side though since he was the baby of the family lol Marjorie and Stephen (my inlaws) remind me so much of myself and Rex...always arguing over nothing! haha
Everything changed when we got older and now, he is more like a best friend to me. I'm so proud of him for all his accomplishments in life. In high school, he was always on the honor roll and involved in multiple activities. He now attends Utah Valley University striving to become a Pediatrician. I wish him the best of luck! You can do it Rex!

Anyway, He sent my sisters and I an email yesterday about a dream that he had. I hope he doesn't mind if I share:

"I just felt like I needed to share this with you guys but anyways so I've been slacking off on my scripture reading and with some stuff and all that but I had this dream last night that really helped a lot and answered my prayers so here it is:

"I was shopping in the mall and was getting ready to leave. Right as I was walking out something pulls me in, it wasn't like a pus, it was a BIG pull. It grabbed my leg and pulled me up towards the ceiling in the mall. I tried to resist it and tried everything else to get away from it but I couldn't. I started crying, all of a sudden I see dad outside the door and he was telling me we got to go and to hurry up. I was sitting there crying for help and dad couldn't help me. He stood by the door as if I wasn't getting dragged in so I started to cry more and also asking for help and then I dropped to the ground. There, I was laying face down on the ground crying...wondering why? Why me? A friend came up to me and told me the reason why is that your not ready..your not prepared, and when you start falling away from who you are and falling away from your studies our going to fall and your going to fall hard [END]"

Touching story right? It almost brought me to tears and I wish I was there to just give Rex a hug. Its amazing how our Heavenly Father answers prayers.

We love you Rex and wish you the best of Luck in everything you do! Good luck today at USU on your volleyball game and also, don't forget who you are..."A child of GOD"

Thinking...

Did your momma see you when you walked out the house like that? haha It seriously was freezing cold Friday night at our little brothers football game and I couldn't help but stare at these 2 little girls, maybe around 9 or 10 yrs old, standing in front of us, wearing TANK TOPS! Are you kidding me? I could literally see my breath every time I exhaled. I had a sweater and a jacket on and I was still cold...

It was utterly age-INAPPROPRIATE. What are parents thinking letting their daughters go out like this? I would understand if it's summer, but it clearly isn't.

Phew! Ok, rant over. I just don't understand it and I see this type of thing regularly and It bugs me.

Day 08 - Short term goals for this month and why

Goals for November 2010:

-Get a gym membership at LA Fitness. Why? Because my weight is increasing and its depressing! haha I really want to start working out more and making it a habit.
Wish me Luck!

Day 7 - A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you

The person who has made the biggest impact on my life is my mother, Uanita Tafili Alo. Growing up I never really had that mother daughter connection with her. I felt like I was always forced to do everything and that my mom was living her dreams through me by signing me up for multiple activities. The other day I was reading through some of my journals that I had written during my Junior high school days and I hated myself for speaking so negative about my mom. I look at myself today and she truly is a mirror for me...I see so much of myself in her. Other than the obvious answer of giving me life, she has given me so much more than that. Because of her examples, I know how to be a good mother to my two boys. She was always there to support me in everything I do and even though at times we'll have our disagreements, I will always love her unconditionally.

I received a letter from her today, along with some stuff that she bought for the boys...It made my cry a little. I wanted to share a little of what she wrote:

"Tilly, I love you and miss you so much. Make sure you teach Drey & Zee Discipline and take them to nursery at church. Make sure they both have books around and take time to walk them to the park. I love you and Lance. Stay true and active to your calling. Be a good YW leader and use your talent for the YW.....Tilly, respect your husband. Watch your mouth and think before you speak. I love you...."

I laughed when I read the end of her letter. She definitely knows me too well. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful mother in my life and a great Grandma to my kids. I love you MOM!

30 day challenge. Day 6

Sad that I can't even think of a hobby that I have other than playing sports. However, I would love to start doing Vinyl lettering in the near future. They are so cute and would be great for home decorations or even gifts.

30 day challenge. Day 5

A picture of somewhere you've been to:

I've been to Samoa 3 times already. Wish I could go this year December for our family reunion. Super bummed out about it.
Matareva Beach
Lalomanu Beach (The Tsunami hit this side hard last year)

When I was younger I used to travel every year for AAU basketball and club volleyball tournaments. Some places I've been to are...
Orlando, Florida for AAU Nationals in 2001
Amarillo, Texas
Dayton, Ohio
Connecticut (I don't remember what city)
Las Vegas, Nevada (We went every year during easter break for the "AND1" tournaments. I think they still have it every year?)

I wish had pictures from all my trips. Back then I didn't believe in digital cameras, only disposable ones lol

Halloween 2010

I hope everyone had a fun & safe Halloween this year! This was our first Halloween here in Tacoma, WA and the kids had a lot of fun. I love how Drey is finally at an age where he can pick his own costume rather than myself choosing one for him. I'm actually surprised that he didn't choose the Iron Man costume...I guess Batman is his new thing. He was definitely too into his costume trying to be the REAL batman. lol We bought him batman gloves to match and luckily Alex had a batman mask from a friend, so we used that instead of the mask that came with the costume. It was too big.
Zeland was Buzz Lightyear from the movie Toy Story and was by far the cutest buzz I've ever seen hehe (well, I guess I'm entitled to say that since he is however my own son lol) Anwyay, here are some pictures of our halloween weekend.
LOL told ya he was too into his costume! haha
They have matching bears from their uncle Rex. He sent the Batman for Drey & Buzz for Zeland before we moved up here to Washington. I thought it was cute that they had the same halloween costumes. If you look closely at the picture above (the one of Zee) You'll see that he is wearing the build a bear shirt w/the jet pack and also it's shoes haha I was laughing because I couldn't believe he fit in it! haha He wore it all night while we were trick or treating around the neighborhood. Must of kept him warm.
